  • Daily DarshanApproximately 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Some days the temple opens as early as 4:00 AM. Timings can shift on festival days, so allow flexibility.
  • EntryGeneral darshan is free — there is no ticket or entry fee for devotees and visitors.
  • Best Time to VisitOctober to March, when the weather is cooler and more comfortable for walking the temple grounds.

How to Reach the Temple

By Air

The nearest airport is Tiruchirappalli International Airport, about 114 km away. From there, taxis and buses connect onward to Gangaikonda Cholapuram.

By Rail

The nearest railway station is at Ariyalur, roughly 19–35 km away depending on route, with regular connections to Trichy and Thanjavur.

By Road

Gangaikonda Cholapuram lies on the Chidambaram–Trichy road (NH 227) and is well served by state bus routes from Thanjavur, Trichy, Kumbakonam, and Chidambaram.
